C.S. Lewis wrote in his book, Mere Christianity, “If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next.”
“But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.” Philippians 3:20 NLT
Are you living with Eternity in mind? Are you living as though Christ could come at any moment? Are you as a child of God living out your values every day so that others will be drawn to Christ and the eternity that you say you believe in? The scripture from Philippians earlier clearly says that if we have accepted Christ as Savior then we are citizens of heaven. As a citizen of the United States I have certain rights and responsibilities. I even have a passport that claims that I am a citizen. As a citizen of heaven as Paul says I also have certain rights and responsibilities these are outlined for me in Gods Word. And although I don’t have a piece of paper that says I am citizen of heaven it is my life that should show forth that citizenship. Those rights and responsibilities lived out in front of others should show others where my citizenship lays and point others ultimately towards God. Are you proclaiming the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light? Blessings
