Genesis 2:7 , “God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed into his face the breath of life, making him a living soul”
This same life breath of God is the same, in every living soul today. There are approximately 8.2 billion examples of this miracle, living today. Each born into a world where there are a multitude of influencers, parents, friends, social media, schools, economic factors, environmental factors and the list of influences are endless.
However, the most important influencer is the Word of God and the Church.
At birth the innocence and freshness of life gives us hope for the future. We have plans, hopes and dreams for the future of this precious gift from heaven. We plan and map out a future that will surely propel and ensure the best life results.
But rapidly life happens, we discover that for all the plans and purposed actions that we put into play, that there are “other” influencers interjecting themselves and the trajectory of the best plans, begin to change, crumble and sometimes go in directions, paths not chosen or dreamed for ourselves or our child.
This is the same constant progression that has played out even from the first family of Adam until this very moment. How do we overcome these life-threatening influences and influencers that destroy Hopes, Dreams and Lives?
There is only one answer, Jesus Christ, by the washing and cleansing of the heart of an individual that has been influenced by the darkness of this world. Through the light of forgiveness and love shining into and through the heart of the believer. It is the only power that can recreate us in regeneration, the new birth that happens as we are filled with His Spirit.
But this new life follows the same path of being influenced, either unto light or darkness. Now with the infilling of the Holy Spirit, just as the newborn child, the newborn creation in Christ must be nourished, influenced by the Holy Spirit to sustain “LIFE”.
Life happens, and its influences surround us on a moment-by-moment basis. How will we deflect wrong influences and overcome them? Only by the Power and Might of God’s Word and His Holy Spirit.
Then we are prepared and established, allowing Jesus Christ to be the influencer through us to a hurting dying world. Then, the power of Hope and Healing influence will abundantly shine the Light of Jesus Christ into the heart of our community, our world.
Let’s shine the “Light”, be an influencer for Christ!
“One reason the church has so little influence over the world is because the world has so much influence over the church.” Charles Spurgeon
