Embracing the right behaviors is essential for thriving in the Kingdom of the Lord! This truth resonates not only in every aspect of life but shines brightly within the body of Christ. Let’s take a moment to reflect together. Imagine the role of a farmer—a beautiful analogy shared by a pastor during a vibrant morning camp meeting service in Virginia several years ago. Farmers possess the incredible task of harmonizing their actions with the seasons of growth. What if a farmer only focused on cultivating the land? They would pour their heart into tilling, preparing, and nurturing the soil, but without planting seeds, there would be no harvest to celebrate! Now, picture a farmer who only plants seeds. They would sow abundantly but may find themselves with little to show for their efforts. Plus, the soil would eventually lose its vitality without proper care! If they were to remain in constant harvest mode, the land would become exhausted, yielding nothing but dust instead of flourishing crops. Every season has its purpose! Just as farmers take time to rest and maintain their land—fine-tuning their equipment and reflecting on past seasons—we, too must honor the same rhythms in all aspects of life and service unto the Lord. The church thrives when we recognize that it’s not always about the harvest. While many voices encourage us to seize the moment and reap what we've sown, let’s remember that true growth involves patience, preparation, and revitalization. No one is exempt from the beautiful cycle of planting, nurturing, and harvesting! Embrace this journey with joy and intention, and you’ll find yourself flourishing in every season. Let’s celebrate the process together! HWWC has been through many variants of these seasons. As a pastor, I once believed that a healthy church was always in harvest mode and that deception produced much mental and spiritual anguish and misfires in ministry. May the Lord help us discern rightly the season we are in here in our present. We have come a long way through the ebbs and flows of the seasons, and we have seen the Lord do amazing things. With many milestones and monumental occasions behind us, we are stirred for the dream set before us. As we partner together, rightly discerning the season while harmonizing our behaviors within it and with one another, we believe even greater times are ahead for HWWC and the community and surrounding areas that we serve. We love you all!!
